Not too good with Indian Food?
This is a common thought for loads of people who are just about to fly over to India. What is the food going to be like? People normally get a bit put off by how dirty the country is but there is really no reason to be put off. Most of the time the Indian food is completely safe to eat and there is no reason to be scared of getting food poisoning or anything like that.
The most vital thing that many people forget when they want to travel to India is that the public over there take their cooking very seriously indeed and they love all their spices, vegetables and range of sauces. To them cooking up a meal is an important affair and they will always take pride in what they cook no matter how small or large their restaurant is. It is arguable that the ingredients themselves might not exactly be fresh but the food is always cooked which is the main thing. Some of the best food is available to you over in India and I would not hesitate to get back out there as soon as I could. Some great dishes to look out for are the vegetable kofta, chicken pinha and the Kafka. All of these dishes are incredibly tasty and they should be trialled and tested in you travel there. Basically, the North of India will serve many vegetable dishes while the South will serve up meat dishes.
For me as long as you use the rule of, “If it’s hot – It’s OK”, you should be fine. The best method is to stick your finger in the middle of the food and if you shout, "OWW!” then you should be OK. If you were asking me personally then I would always say to try and enjoy yourself and the cuisine of the country, otherwise you will never end up being fully involved in the culture.
